A structural assessment of the JCC complex with PT Sucofindo Indonesia — remaining capacity, strengthening estimates, and the repair DED, down to the dome's steel.
This project is a structural assessment audit of the Jakarta Convention Center complex, carried out in strategic partnership with PT Sucofindo Indonesia. The work focused on a thorough check of the integrity of the existing structure, analysis of the remaining capacity of the building's elements, an estimate of the strengthening required, and preparation of standardised technical documents and a repair DED (Detail Engineering Design).
The JCC complex in Jakarta houses assembly areas for thousands of people in demanding column-free configurations. The assessment team mapped the physical and structural condition from the ground floor through the tiered seating to the vast curved dome, identifying potential deflection, material fatigue, and how the structure responds to current operational and seismic loads.
All the investigation and field measurement data was reconstructed into a 3D Revit model and its strength validated through ETABS analysis. Working this way, the Wide Flange (WF) steel sections in the dome roof and the reinforced concrete elements could be evaluated precisely, producing technical DED documents and strengthening estimates ready to implement to extend the building's service life.
